IS THIS YOUR MOXIETOWN?

Does this town check your boxes?

  • What is not to love? Luxurious places to stay as well as short-term rental. Outdoor recreation, live music, shops & galleries. Worth a weekend escape at a minimum!

  • Good broadband; new businesses opening in town yet available buildings for expansion. City Hall strikes us as a welcoming place, less than 2 hours from Atlanta MSA & International Airport. Light on local small business organizations.

Good broadband & selection of short-term rentals for the nomads. Downtown has a selection of places to eat but currently lacks a co-working or shared office environment. Remarkably affordable.

  • So much fresh air and places to explore! This town is a natural for raising children. The schools, public & private, appear solid and there are quite a few choices including hybrid homeschool.

Over half of the population is married. However, there is a growing singles population, and we expect that to increase as the social opportunities with entertainment and recreation grow. Proximity to downtown Atlanta for occasional entertainment is a plus.

There are a lot of recreation options and many new residents which is an advantage to making new friends. Nearby golf communities, mountain houses, and downtown living offer broad choices. Good healthcare less than 3 miles away.

THE UNIQUE MAGIC INGREDIENTS

SPARKS & Vibes

A white note card with black text at the top reading 'THE CLARKESVILLE VIBE' and red cursive text below that says 'Gentle & Kind'.

The way we see it, SPARKS are the places, events, activities that you remember about a MoxieTown, the ones that set them apart, the ones they are known for, & make a lasting impression.

Vibes , on the other hand, are that all-over feeling you get from a place, its unique ambiance.

Clarkesville reasonates a Gentle & Kind vibe. Possibly because the life pace here is interesting but not chaotic. Time spent in nature, which weaves through the town and surrounds it is clearly good for the soul.

The Downtown Scene

How we look at demographics, other than education choices

We are looking at small towns everywhere and, so that our fellow small-town fans can really compare “apples to apples” as closely as possible, we use a 3-mile radius for most all of our demographics, 1 mile if we are talking specifically about what is within walking distance to the heart of town. Because when you are talking about who lives in a town - you don’t really care about who provides their water or where they pay their taxes.
