The autumn magic is calling us north
We have had our nose to the digital grindstone lately, as we are working hard to expand our platform to share more about the amazing places. we are finding and making it easier to share! We're cooking up something quite marvelous here—imagine an artisanal blend of storytelling and digital magic to give you more of the hidden gems we've discovered. Most chefs may not share their secret recipes, but we're all about dishing out a bit on how we choose the towns we showcase. The MoxieTown factor, you see, isn't just any kind of charm; it's a specific blend of opportunity, lifestyle, sense of place, and that irreplaceable sense of community.

So, let's pivot a moment to my imminent adventure. I'm off to a conference in Keene, New Hampshire, called "Radically Rural." Imagine – 100’s of small-town enthusiasts in one place! To get the most out of my Northeast sojourn, I've been on a marathon of calls, diving into metrics and creating a curated list of towns to visit. It appears I need to spend a few months – as New Hampshire and Vermont are mountainous splendor of small towns and hamlets, each as charming as the next!! However, we are not just playing tourists here. These towns are also being considered for their life-building potential.
A bit of trivia—I once coveted a life in the Northeast so much that I pursued a job at Dartmouth University, fresh out of grad school. A near miss, but oh, the life lessons! A professor interviewing me at the time told me they had tossed all the Florida-based applications into the abyss. I like to think my Georgia stint masked my sandy origins. But here's the magic of the Northeast: despite its wintry reputation, it unfurls like a summer dream, teeming with life and beauty that most people don't even realize they're missing.

Now, speaking of winter, I've got my own snow-gear naiveté to confront. As part of this adventure, I'm talking to locals about winter life. How do they thrive when the snowflakes start to fall? There's something magical about the geographical advantage here—you're just a skip and a jump from metropolitan grandeur. When I mapped out my journey, covering almost two states would only take 12 hours of driving. For my friends in Texas and the southwest – that must sound impossible!
Imagine landing in a town with summer lake vibes, a cultural heartbeat with off-Broadway theater, and ski slopes that are a mere grocery-run distance away! The sheer abundance of these towns has me convinced that this trip is but the first chapter in an unfolding saga of discovery.
